The European was first established on the Parade at Norwood as a pizzeria in 1958 and it quickly became the go-to place for authentic Italian food.
In 1979, it was then purchased by Giorgio and Gabriella Cavuoto who, together with their family, are still looking after the place.
The kitchen menu was expanded and the European was taken from being a predominantly take-away business with very little dine-in, to an established restaurant with a loyal clientele.
Today the European is an institution in Norwood and the Home of Italian authentic cuisine.
